Tues, Dec 29

13 weeks and 2 days - Ran 5 miles today and felt SLOW!!! I definitely felt something...maybe not pregnant, exactly...but something. I really hope there is a little baby in there and I'm not just fat!

My lower back was fairly sore after this workout. I think my posture is changing just a little even though I'm not gaining/showing much.

13 weeks and 1 day

Ran 4 miles on the treadmill. My speed was between 6.0 mph and 6.5 mph.

Snowsports are over as quickly as they started

We went snowboarding yesterday at Showdown. I was exactly 13 weeks. Sadly, I think yesterday was my last foray down the hills. I just felt off the whole day. I was a bit wobbly on my board and felt like my balance was shot. I don't know if it was just nerves or truly a physical symptom but Eric and I felt that it was probably best to go with my gut instinct and hang up the board.

I didn't feel great yesterday either...so far, I'm been lucky and have had no morning sickness. I hope I don't "get mine" in the 2nd trimester!

The "big date" in my mind right now is 7 January. That's our next ob/gyn appointment and I know they will at least check the heartbeat on the doppler. I feel like if we can just make it to the 7th, that will be another huge weight off my shoulders.

I thought the 2nd trimester would be so exciting and I would feel so pregnant. Maybe I have to wait a bit for that....haha. I still don't look or really feel pregnant. Once in a while, I think I can feel my uterus (or the "baby's house) way down in my stomach. Or, it could be a tumor...who knows.

Snowboarding to ring in the 2nd trimester!

We went to Big Sky resort (in Montana) this past weekend. I was exactly 12 weeks on Sunday. I snow boarded 2 days in a row all the time laughing about how I hope to tell my future son/daughter that they have been hitting the slopes since they were a few inches big!

I was really surprised that my balance was not affected at all. A lot of people have said that's one of the first things they notice.

In other news, our close friends who were sharing a condo with us discovered our "secret" this weekend. They told us bluntly they had never seen me go so long without a drink!! haha. So a few friends know....we are planning to tell the Families on Christmas. We are still trying to think of a fun way to announce it.

I still have zero symptoms as I move into my second trimester. No weight gain, no morning sickness....nothing. I could seriously be one of those women on TLC's "I didn't know I was Pregnant"!!!!! Hopefully I'll at least show at some point (unlike the TLC women).

Mid December's workouts

Sunday, 13 December: I'm exactly 11 weeks today. I ran 5 miles (split it up between the indoor track and treadmill). My SI joint was hurting and my pelvis felt like it was out of way. When I did "twisters" on the stretching mat, my lower back/pelvis was popping loudly and then it would feel better for a bit. I know my pelvis tilts up a little higher on one side versus the other...I may need to keep an eye on this.

Monday, 14 Dec: Yuck...I felt gross...and tired from a long day at work. I did 10 mins on the elliptical, 10 mins running and 10 mins walking at 8% incline (4 mph).

In other news, I need new sports bras. I'm not very big on top and usually any old crappy bra will work. Now, I'm just a little too sore to wear the crappy bras. Whenever I wear one to the gym, I make myself throw it away before I leave so I don't bring it back home again!

Too nervous to post!

We have our second ultrasound tomorrow. I will be 10 weeks and 4 days. I'm pretty nervous about it. More to follow.

Workout: Ran 1.5 miles and lifted weights (upper body)

Random running

I logged 4 miles on Monday on the treadmill...pace ranged between 6.0mph and 6.5 mph

Tuesday: 3 miles. I did 1.5 miles on the track and 1.5 miles on the treadmill. I'm realizing that the treadmill is "safer" for me. My pace on the track was my normal pre-pregnancy pace. Ooops! I think that's a little fast. I also did some situps and pushups. I'm enjoying the last month before I'm not supposed to do exercises on my back anymore. Why is this a rule? I mean, I can sleep on my back but I can't weight lift on my back?? More research on my part is needed.

In other news, I think my secret is about to blow open at work. I wanted to keep this whole pregnancy thing under wraps until at least January but I don't think we are going to make it! People are starting to connect the dots!

Where did the running go?

I'm sad to report that running did not really happen this week. Exhaustion kicked in and knocked me off my feet. I really only felt it in the morning...it was impossible to get out of bed. Better luck to next week on the running front.

I did manage to do a P90X workout at the house one day...I did the YogaX which kicked my butt. My hamstrings and shoulders were so sore that I couldn't move from days.

Eric and I have our second ultrasound coming up on Thursday. I'm very nervous about it. I'll be almost 11 weeks which is exactly when we found out there was no heartbeat on our last pregnancy. I'm packed on a solid 3 pounds and defnitely look like I have a beer gut. I hope there is actually a baby in there and it's not just me pigging out.
