When you can no longer fit into snowpants, it's time to quit snowsports

Eric and I had a fabulous getaway this week to Big Sky, Montana. We spent a day touring Yellowstone National Park on snowmobile. I can't say enough about how AMAZING snowmobiling in the park was. Put it on your bucket list now!

Anyway, when I showed up at the snowmobile shop, I realized i could no longer zip and button my snowpants!! I rode the whole day with my pants unzipped...luckily, I was layered up underneath. If that isn't a sign to hang up the crazy sports, I don't know what is. You would be proud of me in that I DID NOT snowboard the next day on the mountain (that was only because I don't think i can zip up my tiny snowboard jacket....haha).

I think the baby is definitely growing this week. I can feel my stomach stretching...but then again, I did eat a ton of mexican food and M&Ms!

I also noticed some wicked headaches. I'm not sure if they were from the altitude though or pregnancy. I will keep an eye on it.

Back to the grind and the gym tomorrow!

I'm starving

The hunger has kicked in hard core...I feel like a bottomless pit. I'm seriously eating twice as much as I usually do and still feel hungry! Also, I'm starting to feel a little worn out. I really didn't feel tired in my first trimester, so it's wierd it's kicking in during my second.

I dragged (yes, literally dragged) the dogs out for an hour run today. We were going pretty slow mostly because Cody was being a little pain and refusing to run next to me. I think I probably did 5 miles.

I noticed my knees hurt after the run. I never have had knee pain before. Hopefully it's a one time thing.

Up and down week

I ran 4 miles yesterday (2 on the treadmill and 2 on the indoor track). I did a few 1 minute pickups throughout. I felt really good while running but then afterwards, my arches and lower legs started hurting. I have an arch injury from indoor track in college and that arch was acting up. I'm thinking the hormones may be contributing to my ligaments and tendons stretching out in my feet...so I'm not getting the support I usually get.

I am taking today off...I have to write a paper tonight so I can go to the Rodeo tomorrow night! I'm definitely more of an opera/theater/symphony girl....but, hey, we live in Montana. We have to join in the local fun. I think I'm going to get all decked out...boots, tight jeans and some ridiculous baby doll t-shirt that barely covers my gut. I'm designated DD and don't mind at all...I'm that girl that everyone thinks is totally wasted on the dance floor when I'm really sober!

Homework trumps running

I'm in the midterm week of my LAST 2 CLASSES for my MS degree! I'm pretty stoked. It's only taken me 3 years! (yeah, some people go to school for 7 years....and they're called doctors). Although the actually classes haven't been too killer (it helps that I like the subject matter), it's tough to get it all done between working full time and life.

I ordered my cap and gown a couple days ago. One of the best things about my school is that it's in Arizona so I get to leave cold, snowy MT in March to go to my graduation.

I'm also thankful to be done with school (at least for now) if/when we have a little one running around. Eric is also fairly close to finishing his graduate degree...he should be done by the fall.

So schoolwork definitely beat out running this week. I did 5 miles yesterday (3 miles running, 1 mile walking at treadmill, 1 mile running) but that's about all I have fit in.

14 weeks, 6 days

I braved the cold and ran outside today with a running buddy. I did 6 miles and the snow, wind, weather wasn't terrible. We walked a few parts (my running budy was doing 11 today was she was kinda worn out). So all and all, a very easy/relaxing run for me. Also, I took Charley along and she did good too. She was sick yesterday and I was worried she would have some "accidents" along the way but she was fine.

I think I want to keep trying to do a long run outside on the weekends...it's a good break from the gym.

I do feel a little sore from weights yesterday.

After the run, I outdid myself at On the Border...I just love the guacamole.

14 weeks, 5 days

I'm getting RIPPED today. Ok, well maybe not that huge. I ran 3 miles on the indoor track...don't even know what my pace was...I just ran. Then, I lifted weights for 45 mins or so. I focused a lot on arms/upper body but threw in a few squats and stepups for good measure. I felt really good and strong today.

I still fear that I look like the "Girl with the beer gut" at the gym. The bump definitely looks like pudge right now.

14 weeks, 4 days

I took yesterday off because my IT band was acting up...probably because I'm running so damn slow.

Anyway, today I did 4 miles on the treadmill (pace 6.0mph -6.5mph). Then I did 1 mile on the track walk/run. Total = 5 miles. Plus ab work and some pushups.

We had a doctors appointment today and got to hear the heartbeat. Now I can "officially" say I'm in the second trimester. Everything is looking good. We also scheduled our big ultrasound which will be 12 February right before Eric leaves. I can't believe how soon that is! Crazy!

I'm also going in sometime in the next two weeks to do a quad screen to check if baby's at risk for anything.

Sometimes, it's still hard to believe I'm pregnant.
