14 weeks, 2 days

I think my "secret" might be out to my fellow gym-goers. I realized today that my stomach sticks out when I run. But I'm still at that stage where maybe they all feel sad for the poor girl with a beer gut! I can't really hold my stomach in (like I usually do at work) when I am concentrating on moving my arms and legs and not falling off the treadmill. Also, I walked a mile today at the gym and for anyone who knows me...that is a dead giveaway that something is up. I am NOT a walker at all...it's too slow of a sport for me.

Workout: Ran 5 miles between 6.0mph and 6.5mph. Walked 1 mile (6 miles total). Did ab work: ball crunches, roman chairs and planks.

I did 2 or 3 pickups of 1 min at 7.5mph. I must say, it's only because I am consciously forcing myself to slow down that I am running this slow. I actually feel great and my body feels really good especially at 7.5mph (was my pre-pregmancy pace). I'm keeping my breathing really easy...arguably too easy. But I'm OK with that. I'm just happy to get moving and do something everyday. I'm sure it will get harder later on but for now, the running is good.

Only complaint is that my lower back is tight and sore afterwards.

Off day x's 2!

I took Sunday and Monday off....and also managed to pack on 3 lbs or so! I have been an eating machine today....out of control! But I was starving! The only problem with starvation is that you tend to eat junk food instead of good food.

I did get a fabulous massage tonight so the day off was well worth it!

Back to the grind tomorrow....

13 weeks, 6 days

I'm so worried about our appointment on Thursday! I'm trying to "be tough" so I'm prepared for any outcome...but I really do want this little firecracker to stick around. I am still wishing for ANY kind of pregnancy symptom. Sometimes I think my boobs are a little bigger....but I think it's in my head. Also, sometimes I think i can feel my uterus popping out over my pelvis, but other times I'm worried that I'm just a little chunky. Please stick around little, Bean! This 'teen' weeks are going by so slowly.

Workout: Ran 4 miles on the treadmill. Did a couple of minutes at 7.5mph...they felt good to actually get moving. 98% of the run was between 6.0mph and 6.5mph.

Froze my face off

13 weeks, 5 days

Dragged myself off the couch for a spritely little run outside. The temperature was a balmy 10 degrees F.

If I am gaining weight, it had better be baby weight and not Oreo, McDonalds, chewy Chips Ahoy, or ice cream weight.

So, the dogs and I ran 4 miles in 10 degrees. I think I froze my face off. But, I haven't heard a peep from the dogs all afternoon. They have been passed out for the last 2 hours.

Next "big day" on the horizon...7 January. We go for our next doctor's appt and they will check the heartrate with the doppler. Wish us luck.
13 weeks, 3 days - 4 miles at the gym

13 weeks, 4 days - 3 miles running + weights. I'm pretty sore today! I guess I haven't lifted in a while but I'm def feeling it in my arms and shoulders.

Today is 1 Jan...I'm seriously lacking motivation. This is not the way to ring in the New Year! I was thinking of taking the dogs out for a walk/job but 1) it's 10 degrees outside and 2) I'm worried about the ice. Pregnancy has made me fearful of falling. Oh, and it's 10 degrees. Did I mention it's cold outside yet? I suppose if I commit to walking, I won't be as worried about slipping. But, I'm not a good walker. It just seems like such a slow way to get around. It takes forever!! But then again, my runs seem to be taking forever at this point too due to my slow pace.

Compromise solution?? Walk the dogs for 2 miles (once around the neighborhood) and then play Dance Dance Revolution??? DDR could be a little carrot to motivate me to take the dogs out. It's not that I really love the dogs, it's just that if I don't take them out to run around, they will try to play the DDR with me and it gets ridiculous and dangerous. (Also, I'm joking....I really love the dogs. And I want to be an advocate against canine obesity).

Tues, Dec 29

13 weeks and 2 days - Ran 5 miles today and felt SLOW!!! I definitely felt something...maybe not pregnant, exactly...but something. I really hope there is a little baby in there and I'm not just fat!

My lower back was fairly sore after this workout. I think my posture is changing just a little even though I'm not gaining/showing much.
